Driving enthusiasts know there is more to driving pleasure than how quickly a car can accelerate or how hard it can corner.
How the handling "feel" is important.
Suzuki engineers listened at length to driving enthusiasts and emulated their driving styles to ensure the Suzuki SX4's
handling would feel "right".
A newly designed platform was deemed essential, and a rigid body and chassis design received priority. The results speak
for themselves. A rigid body, rigid suspension mounts, wide tracks, and large-diameter tyres work together to enable crisp,
predictable driving dynamics despite high ground clearance.
Moreover, occupants will still be comfortable and the car, easy to drive even after long periods of long energetic performance.
The body evolves from the fundamental design that helped carry the Suzuki Swift to numerous awards throughout the world,
starting with many "Car of the Year" awards.
The tyres were made larger, and the body's structural integrity and rigidity increased. The Suzuki SX4 also offers high
level of torsional rigidity and bending rigidity.
Rigid suspension mounts augment the body's rigidity to draw out the suspension's potential. The body was engineered from
the beginning to accommodate wide tracks and large 16-inch tyres.
A front strake and shroud and relatively flat under surface further the aerodynamic nature of the body's flowing design.
The precision tunings of the front MacPherson struts and rear torsion beam suspension afford crisp, responsive handling
and stable performance that is not tiring even after motor-way and long-distance travel.
Suzuki engineers conducted thorough road tests to ensure the handling characteristics would satisfy even discerning
driving enthusiasts. The entire chassis assembly was made rigid to withstand the demands of 16-inch wheels mounted on
five studs.
The fine tuned braking system provides sure stopping performance. Equally important, the braking feel is ideally matched
to the car's playful nature.
A 10-inch booster is fitted for greater stopping power. The ventilated front disc and rear solid disc brakes offer excellent fade resistance,
delivering powerful performance even after repeated braking.
